Technology and Work /Life Balance

Cary helped us understand how to maximize our online presence through TPI’s template websites. Adding Twitter and Facebook to our template websites is soooooo easy!

Christal and Penny led a workshop on achieving a work life balance. TPI Associates shared ideas on managing time, their environments, Files, procrastination, being alone, managing stress and building confidence and self esteem. There are many ways we can create a better balance by practicing some of the tips we shared.

You can do it!

Friday, May 15, 2009
You don’t need to be tech savvy to benefit from all the potential social networking opportunities! Nolan Burris introduced us to the many ways we can tap on to existing blogs and websites. Many left the room eager to start this social networking journey.

Victoria - tea...ship inspections ...and cocktails of course!

Royal Caribbean arranged a beautiful lunch yesterday at Nautical Nellies in Victoria. After a bit of shopping the gang headed over to the Mariner of the Seas to do a ship inspection....and wow is that a beautiful ship. It took about two hours to walk through it and see the many features it has to offer, but the group was very impressed!

Some TPI Associates enjoyed high tea at the Empress Hotel and then headed back to the ship. It was pretty rainy and cool but the group has had such a positive attitude and great spirit! We all met back for cocktails then some headed to the dining room for dinner while others tried The Pinnacle Grill.

Broadcasting Live from the Splendor!

Emilyn was behind the camera as we interviewed some of our associates on the Carnival Splendor.... Check it out...

Dinner on the Splendor!

Aloha!

Thursday May 14

As TPI Associates arrived at the disco, the paparazzi went wild. Wow! We have a lot of creative colleagues! The very colourful and funny outfits had everyone laughing and having a great time.
Check out the Hawaiian night pictures. We will be adding more when we get off the ship (the internet connection is a little slow)

A Very Busy Day!

Tuesday, May 12, 2009
It was a full day yesterday in the El Morocco Lounge on the Carnival Splendor. Flemming (Thomas Cook), Nadine (Carnival) as well as Mark Linton (RBC) gave great presentations. We also had a presentation from Susan of Transat holidays but probably one of the most entertaining was Ramon from WestJet Vacations. He had everyone laughing out loud!

The day began with an intimate supplier meeting with the head office group. Associates were found scattered throughout the ship working on their challenges and solutions for the Nolan Burris session on Saturday. After twelve rounds of supplier round tables, delegates moved into the boardroom for a supplier session with Pat (Signature Vacations) and the group from Trav Corp.

The supplier panel (Signature, RBC, Insight, Carnival, WestJet Vacations, Thomas Cook and Transat Holidays) was very interesting and suppliers provide answers to some tough questions!

There wasn’t much time before we all met again for the Velocity Party where Phil congratulated our Velocity associates. Fun was had by all and in fact we celebrated a couple of Birthdays – Happy Birthday Mary Goldsmith ( HAL) and Sarah Miller( TPI Associate – Alberta)!
It is definitely time to go to bed mjhksjadhghjahfhjalajhgkaj=ooopppsss – it is getting a.........little .....rocky..
....good-night........

Happy 15th Anniversary TPI!

Sunday night – May 10, 2009
Last night the suppliers and head office staff were introduced at the cocktail party. Phil and the team applauded the hard work of the conference team who were holding the fort back in Winnipeg.

Monday – May 11, 2009
The 15th Anniversary video opened the conference!
Phil Sproul emphasized how important this milestone is. He reviewed our core values and some of the very impressive growth numbers! TPI is in a very strong position and is the leader in Canada in the Independant home based distribution channel.
Hats off to TPI Associates for all your hard work!
Melanie shared some of the reasons to celebrate and revealed our 15 months of celebration. This will include monthly preferred partners, training and incentives which include a very special incentive of a surprise 100% commission for the day (stay tuned).
She also launched the Groups Program and Group Connections and officially announced Amanda Warren as our Groups Coordinator, as well as Sharon James for Groups Sales. Congratulations Amanda and Sharon!

Nolan Burris wowed us with online developments and the opportunity Travel Agents have in these more technically driven times – how the human element is a luxury and the reasons customers call an agent. He led us through a series of questions focussing on the six zones of a vacation experience – emotional, lifestyle, social, dining, activities and cultural. Check out Nolan's site for more info.
